When I bought my 07 a few years ago it had 4000mi and the gear oil was just gray with metal fines. The greatest amount of wear on mated machine parts is during the initial break-in period. Honda recommends first oil change at 600mi and the final drive, not for some ungodly thousands of miles. That one i'll never understand as it surely needs
