Basically can't start it immobiliser has kicked in can't turn engine over. Can't get a fault code because the red light on console is constantly flickering , got engine warning light on. Have replaced battery previous owner had a standard lead in there so swapped for a ca battery .
The flashing denotes that the immobilizer can not pick up the code in the key. If the red LED when in heat/start position stays on solid and then goes out. this means that the immobilizer has found the key and is not ready for firing of the engine, who ever if the van fails to start after this then yes it may be down to the starter solenoid.The code is usually repeated about 10 times and will signify a two number code i.e.-. Flash flash pause flash would be code 2,1. These codes assist in diagnosing immobiliser faults.
